The Orchard Media Center was a project to explore a fictional product in a world where to company’s merged their efforts together to create a single product. After researching and debating, the class agreed to make our project on the fictional love child product of Apple and Herman Miller Knoll. Another large aspect of this project was to create a deeper understanding and use of a cross cultural millennial, a persona identity that was also decided through class decision.
While the use of a persona was a large part of the project, another large aspect was that of the fictional Orchard company that came about through a merger of Apple and Herman Miller Knoll. This meant thoroughly researching both company’s and figuring out what set these company’s apart from others so that we could be sure to include these unique identities to our products. With both sides of the research done, I was finally able to create a new company and product.
